Lots of fun for the whole family!

Lots of fun for the whole family!
I got this app for my 4 yr old but played it myself and found it quite addicting. I've not had any problems with this app- not one crash or freeze up moment. Great graphics. I have found that I can even play this game where my wifi is not available which I awesome. It's not a game that you start and get into and have to spend money. I haven't pd for anything yet!

Hill climb racing is probably the best game on my tablet. My tablet is a fire tablet. I hate it. It lags like crazy. I can't do anything without having to wait until the game comes, then it kicks me out. But on this game that's like the opposite. The only Time it kicks me out is when I have multiple tabs open and people are doing things like downloading high quality games. By that I mean games that will make your device basically become a nuke. Games like Fortnite on an old Xbox one. Really fun game. About 2021,2022 I played this game all day on my tv, but then I switched accounts and it got all deleted. haven't played for a while until I found it on my table app store and got it. This game is AMAZING😀😀😀😀😋😋😋😋😃😃😃😃I will die to play this game. Love the race car and when at full max upgrade.over all really fun game. Please 🙏 get this game you won't regret it.

We have Amazon Fire TV and my 6 year old son and I just started experimenting with trying out some of the games. I used to love Nintendo when I was a kid and got addicted to certain games, like the original Zelda, and Super Mario Brothers 3, but as an adult I've gotten away from it because . . . well, life. So I am not a major gamer and have no professional gaming opinions. I downloaded a few free games just to give it a try and this was one of them. I chose it because it had such high ratings, but I will admit that I had low expectations for this game based on the pretty basic graphics. But after a few times playing this game, I saw the skill involved in preventing your vehicle from flipping over and the game immediately took hold of me and I've been addicted since, as is my son! As he so proud to say, "Mom, we're OBSESSED, right?" Now, mind you, I'm an attorney who works full time plus takes care of my house and has a 2 year old girl and my 6 year old boy. So I don't have time to be playing these games. But somehow I always find a way to get a few games in a day with him, and it's been some fun bonding time. We're even starting to get my husband into it who loves car racing in general, and I can see him gradually wanting to play more and more. So it's becoming a family affair!

On to the game, the concept is simple. You start with one vehicle - a jeep - and one board - a grassy outdoor terrain - and you go up and down hills and over bumps and your objective is to get as far as you can without running out of gas or flipping your car over, and in the meantime accumulating as many coins as you can, because coins are what you use to (1) purchase other vehicles, (2) purchase other boards, and (3) upgrade your vehicles with better engines, suspension, gas mileage, etc. When you reach your mileage goals to finish a level, you get lots of bonus coins for doing that, as you also do for getting air time (your vehicle goes airborne for a moment over a hill) or for flipping your car and cracking your driver's neck (sounds gruesome, but it's not graphic and it's funny). You have to learn how each vehicle you are driving works in terms of holding the road, how it handles on hills, etc., when you need to use your brake going down hills, etc., all to prevent yourself from flipping over. It really is a game of skill and that's the addicting part.

A note on the cost of this game. It was free to download and we have never paid any money since. For impatient people who want to simply have all the vehicles and all the boards right away, you can pay for coins, and I'm sure the manufacturer makes a lot of money that way. But for people like us, who are content to earn our coins through good game playing, you will have plenty of opportunities to rack up enough coins to get other vehicles and boards without having to spend any real money (or Amazon coins). For example, just through some moderate playing by my son and I over the past week since we downloaded the game, we now have 4 vehicles, which have been each upgraded several times (there are multiple levels of upgrades you can do in each category), and 4 game boards to choose from.

I could go on and on about this game as I really do love it, so if you have any specific questions or comments you want me to answer, you can comment below and I'll respond.

vividly recall playing this game twice – once with my brother and once on my tablet. A week ago, I returned to it on my phone, and the experience was still fantastic. However, I observed some changes since my last visit. New levels have been introduced, providing a mix of both challenging and enjoyable gameplay. There are also new vehicles, and certain elements, such as the coin designs, have been enhanced. On the downside, there has been a slight uptick in the number of ads. It's important to mention that they are used reasonably and aren't overly intrusive, considering the revenue they generate

This game is seriously fun and addictive! The physics-based gameplay really amps up the enjoyment factor. Yeah, there's some coin farming stuff going on, but it doesn't ruin the fun. The ads aren't too bad either. But, here's the thing—I've got this issue with the settings that's driving me nuts. Every time I fire up the game, all my preferences stay the same except for the pedals. I always gotta manually switch off the pedal view because that's how I like it. It's annoying that this setting keeps resetting. Can you please sort this out so that all my preferences stay put? Personally, I think this game beats its successor HCR2 for a bunch of reasons. It's a perfect place to dive in.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hill Climb Racing: A Surprisingly Fun Blast From the Past on TV
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on January 11, 2024
Remember Hill Climb Racing? The addictive mobile game that had us glued to our phones years ago? Well, guess what? It's back and ready to take over your living room with a brand new TV edition! But is the transition from pocket-sized thrills to big-screen entertainment a smooth one? Let's buckle up and find out.

Gameplay: A Familiar Formula with a Big-Screen Twist

At its core, Hill Climb Racing for TV remains the same charmingly chaotic physics-based racer we know and love. You control our intrepid driver, Newton Bill, as he navigates his rickety car (or one of many unlockable vehicles) up increasingly treacherous hills. The goal is simple: reach the farthest distance possible without flipping over or running out of gas.

The controls are straightforward, with just an on-screen gas pedal and brake. However, mastering the game's nuanced weight distribution and momentum takes practice. Tilting your controller slightly can send Bill soaring into the air, while a poorly timed brake can send you tumbling headfirst into a pile of rocks.

This is where the TV edition shines. The larger screen makes it easier to read the terrain ahead and anticipate obstacles, leading to a more strategic and satisfying gameplay experience. Plus, the added rumble support through your TV's speakers makes every bump and crash feel impactful.

Content: A Plethora of Tracks and Vehicles to Conquer

Hill Climb Racing for TV doesn't skimp on content. The game comes packed with a variety of tracks, from the classic Climb Canyon to lunar landscapes and snowy mountains. Each track throws new challenges your way, with hills, bridges, loops, and even exploding barrels to keep things interesting.

And let's not forget the vehicles! From the trusty jeep to motorcycles, monster trucks, and even a hot air balloon, there's a ride for every driving style. Each vehicle has its own unique handling and performance, adding another layer of depth to the gameplay.

Visuals and Audio: A Nostalgic Trip Down Memory Lane

Hill Climb Racing for TV doesn't boast cutting-edge graphics, but that's part of its charm. The cartoony visuals and over-the-top physics are reminiscent of classic arcade games, and they translate surprisingly well to the big screen. The soundtrack is equally nostalgic, featuring a catchy chiptune loop that will get stuck in your head for days.

Overall: A Worthy Return for a Mobile Classic

Hill Climb Racing for TV is a delightful surprise. It takes a simple mobile game and elevates it to a surprisingly enjoyable console experience. The familiar core gameplay loop is as addictive as ever, and the larger screen and added rumble support make it even more satisfying. With a plethora of tracks, vehicles, and challenges to conquer, Hill Climb Racing for TV is sure to please fans of the original and newcomers alike. Just be prepared for a few frustrating flips and tumbles along the way – that's all part of the fun!

Verdict:

Pros: Addictive gameplay, simple controls, satisfying physics, tons of content, nostalgic visuals and audio.
Cons: Can be frustrating at times, graphics haven't aged the best.
Recommendation: If you're looking for a fun and casual game to play with friends or family, Hill Climb Racing for TV is definitely worth checking out. It's a great way to relive the nostalgia of the mobile game and experience it in a whole new way. Just remember, patience is a virtue when it comes to mastering the art of hill climbing!
