I’m a Professor of Computer Science at Ontario Tech University in the Faculty of Science. During my time at Ontario Tech I’ve served as both the Undergraduate and Graduate Program Director of Computer Science, the Associate Dean of the School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (SGPS) and I’ve been a member of the university’s Board of Governors.
As a researcher, I lead the Software Engineering & Education Research Lab and I am the principal investigator in the CFI-funded Human-Centred Computing Lab (with Christopher Collins and Julie Thorpe).
Prior to joining Ontario Tech, I completed my Ph.D. in the School of Computing at Queen’s University in 2007. My Ph.D. dissertation research focused on using program mutation to compare fault detection techniques for concurrent software. I also received a M.Sc. in Computer Science in 2002 from Queen’s University and a B.Sc. (Hons.) from Mount Allison University in Computer Science and Mathematics in 2000.
