edge 116 does not work ie mode by enterprise site list(when login edge proflie)

Copper Contributor

Edge vesrion 116.0.1938.54 (64bit)

os : win 10 pro 21H2

When it was not version 116, the ie mode of the edge was used as a list of enterprise sites as a group policy (or registry).

However, with the official update to version 116, ie mode's list of enterprise sites does not apply.

In edge://compat/enterprise, "emie sitelist cannot be parsed"
In edge://policy/,  "InternetExplorerIntegrationLevel" and "InternetExplorerIntegrationSiteList" have a status of "error, Ignored" .

What is unusual is that this symptom occurs on the PCs of people who connect and use the profile of edge.

Even if the synchronization setting is excluded, the enterprise site list does not apply. I must proceed with and use the profile logout unconditionally to apply.

I think this is a SW bug...

Please correct it as soon as possible...

@lee_1_1 it seems Microsoft strips out almost all policies when you are "signed in" in Browser with a personal Microsoft Account now with Edge v116 (Edge for Business).

For me this behaviour even if there is no Work-Profile configured (which would enable Edge for Business) is crazy, see my post here.

@lee_1_1 Like @Gunnar-Haslinger has mentioned, in Microsoft Edge Stable v116, Microsoft Edge for Business was turned on by default.  There are some policies that are only applied to the work browser and not applied when signed into a personal Microsoft Account.  I've checked with the team and they have made an update.  IE mode policies should start being applied to the MSA profile.  This fix should be included in the next Microsoft Edge Stable v116 update, if there are no delays it should be released this week.  Thanks!

thx for check edge status... So is this SW bug??.. And

116.0.1938.54 updated within this week?

Because of this... I`m very confused..... TT

Why would you only apply certain policies? Most of the policies we set for Edge where set on the device level so they should be active all the time regardless of the profile you are using because we want the same set of settings for Edge on our corporate devices. At this point we did not restrict our users from adding a personal profile, but if adding a personal profile means they can just install every extension that is blocked in the corporate profile or with Edge uptil version 115.x this means Edge version 116.x is a serious no-go for us.

Please honor the GPO settings to be applied for every profile!

@Hotzenwalder Here is a link to the Microsoft Edge for Business FAQ with more information: Microsoft Edge for Business FAQ - Microsoft Community Hub.  The policies are discussed in the IT management and controls section.

@Kelly_Y Did the behaviour change in later versions, because yesterday the policies were partly ignored. We could install blocked extensions in the personal Edge profile etc.

Hi Everyone!  We just released Stable Version 116.0.1938.62.  (Microsoft Edge release notes for Stable Channel | Microsoft Learn)

Please test if IE mode is working properly in the personal browser profile (MSA login).  One thing to note, if you utilize the SendIntranetToInternetExplorer policy, it was not able to be included in this update and will be updated in the next Stable release.  Thanks!
