Please clarify, applies to Microsoft Defender Application Guard (MDAG)

Microsoft Defender Application Guard (MDAG) is still recommended in Microsoft Edge for web browsing protection.

Is it an outdated app or should it be discontinued for Windows11?

Why is it possible to run in the latest version of Windows11?

@A1-A1 Hello - Thanks for reaching out!  Can you share where you saw that MDAG is being recommended?  If you have a link, that would be helpful!

Microsoft Defender Application Guard for Edge is no longer being actively developed and might be removed in a feature Windows release, but it will continue to be maintained for existing installations on Windows.

If you want to block unprotected browsers until you are ready to retire MDAG usage in your enterprise, we recommend using AppLocker policies or Microsoft Edge management service.  Thanks!

Hi @Kelly_Y  🙂

Thanks for the reply,

Yesterday I was setting up my new personal computer with Windows11, and here is a surprise in Microsoft Defender Settings ->Application and browser control ( online security ) there is a clear recommendation to enable Microsoft Isolated Browsing (MDAG). The recommendation is unequivocally misleading in my opinion!

Or maybe it is better to run this function in the client version?
