Recent DiscussionsNewest TopicsMost LikesSolutionsToday I Borked OneDrive Sync on MacOS. Here's How I Did It and How I Fixed It TL;DR -a short story of how I broke sync on my Macbook and why it required a full re-sync. Hopefully this helps someone down the line. Backstory I've been slowly moving all of my uploaded photos and videos to my Macbook for the past week. For the most part, things were going well until I made a small change with a OneDrive/SharePoint site and shortcut that seemed to break the sync tool to the point of requiring me to re-sync everything fresh. What Broke? The sync tool stopped syncing and nothing I did could get it to start again. How Did this Happen? Essentially, I deleted a SharePoint site that still has a shortcut in my OneDrive library. The sync tool picked up that the Shortcuts were no longer working and offered to "remove" the shortcuts for me, so I went for it. The tool essentially quiet-quit from there. I quit/re-opened the app, but the sync would never start-up again. I then removed the shortcuts via the web app (which I probably should have done in the first place), but the sync app wouldn't pick up the changes. That's when I knew it was truly borked. Restarting my computer couldn't even solve the issue. It took a full re-sync to get back into business, which thankfully went smoothly. Lesson Learned Remove shortcuts from the OneDrive web app, not the sync app. It's Nearly 2025 and Meeting Channel invites still don't work properly With channel meetings, all members get a meeting invite regardless of whether the organizer invites them or not. Why even offer the ability to invite individuals in the first place? It's been so long, I'm starting to think this was by design and MS has no intention of fixing it. How to Ensure Email Digests are Properly Rendered in Outlook I was blowing the dust off of my organization's 'All Company' community and, as expected, a handful of staff were emailed about my post . However, the email only included links to the post, instead of fully rendering the post so people could see the content, react and reply. Is there a way to ensure that all emails sent from a community fully render in Outlook? It's a great feature, but it doesn't seem reliable. Is there any kind of email or notification that is pushed when someone uses Storyline? As per the title, I'm wondering if M365 will push out an email or any kind of notification is someone uses Storyline - assuming: no topics were used no one is FOLLOWING the individual no one is mentioned Would the 'Discover what's happening across your organization' auto-digest include storyline posts that no one has seen or engaged with? Can this misaligned list field be fixed? Looks like long column titles can mess with field alignment in Lists, and it's driving me nuts. Can this be fixed with JSON or something? Email Channel Doesn't Work in New Channel UX Has anyone else found that emails don't go through since the new Team Channel UX was released? I haven't been able to get this to work for months, even if I delete the old email and create a new one. M365 Adoption Score - The "Remote Work'" measure doesn't make sense to me Has anyone here used the M365 Adoption score to help plan and measure a client's adoption journey? I'm reading up on everything and I'm confuse about theRemote Work measure. According to the documentation, people are counted as "onsite" if they spend more than 3 hours in M365 apps per day. So I work from home a few days a week and probably spend 3-4 hours in PowerPoint and maybe Excel. Would I be counted as "onsite" even thought I'm remote? Maybe I'm misunderstanding how this works, so I'm hoping someone here can clarify. Right now, this seems like a flawed measure to me. @channel and @team mentions no longer work for external users in shared channel Does anyone know why@channel and@team mentions stopped working in Shared channels for external users? It worked flawlessly up until a week ago, and I'm not sure why. I can confirm that team settings weren't changed anywhere. This seems to have happened across multiple tenants I'm an external member in. Challenges with External Users in the SharePoint Team site of a Shared Channel I need to enable external users of a Shared Channel to be able to create and edit pages in the associated SharePoint site. I'm wondering if any of you have experience with the following challenges: the "New" drop-down menu is missing from the SharePoint site home page the site loads slower than average for external users I'm not sure why the home page is missing the 'New" drop-down menu. This has only happened in once tenant setup so far, but I'm not sure how to fix it. The Azure B2B and shared channel was setup roughly five hours from posting this. Both external users are able to receive and join the shared channel, post conversations and even create files from the 'Files' tab. Will this resolve itself with more time or is it a configuration issue somewhere in the admin center? The option to create pages is available in site contents. I've confirmed that they can create and publish pages using this method, but it's not ideal: The next issue is site performance for the external users. Every page load takes several moments to happen. I'm not sure what to make of this other than that permissions are getting hung-up somewhere. Lastly, for this setup to work - I have already invited both external users directly to ADD, so they're listed as guests. This was necessary to prevent SharePoint from booting the external users out every few minutes. I hope I'm not working against the grain here. Any help is appreciated 🙂 Looking for Framework for Communcations Guidelines in an M365 Environment Hi all! Do you have a go-to framework for helping organizations plan out their communication strategies in M365? Ideally something that can be used as a reference guide for the end users. Recommendations are welcome!
