Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant are finally married after months of pre-wedding festivities. This wedding shall be remembered for generations to come and clearly, everyone cannot stop wondering about the amount of money which the Ambanis have splurged. Here's a look into some of the most expensive things at the wedding.
According to reports, the Ambani wedding cost has surpassed the cost of wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles which was estimated at about $163 million.Anant and Radhika's wedding cost around Rs 5000 crore. The cost of the entire wedding also includes the pre-wedding festivities which have been happening since months. Apparently, $300 million was just allocated to the pre-wedding festivities including the luxury cruise that featured performances from Katy Perry and Backstreet Boys. Other international artists like Rihanna and Justin Beiber were seen arriving in India and performing.
The Ambani family's extravagant jewellery and clothes were hard to miss. One saw Nita Ambani flaunting an emarald-studded diamond necklace which cost Rs 400 to Rs 500 crore. She carried it on her ivory gold saree and this necklace was touted as one of the most expensive pieces in the world. Shloka Ambani was also seen wearing a neckplace worth a similar price.
Meanwhile, Anant was seen wearing a Patek Philippe watch that values Rs 67.5 crore. Apart from the most expensive pieces of clothing, jewellery and watches worn by the Ambani family, they also gifted luxury items to their guests. Anant had gifted a watch worth Rs 2 crore to all his close friends from the industry - including Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal among others. Many others also got designer Louis Vuitton bags, gold chains and designer footwear. Apart from all this, the cost included the best of talent from the music industry performing live at the festivities - apart from the international artists. From private charter flights, luxury cars and what not - the Ambani wedding indeed was a lavish affair.
However, this cost of a whopping Rs 5000 crore, still doesn't make them any less rich and netizens have some hilarious reaction to this. A user on Reddit said, "I just read an article which said that if the Ambanis spend 3 crores..yes 3 crores…every day, their wealth will last them 962 years." A user reacted to this and said, "Hume 3 crore dede to generational wealth ka base ban jaega at least.”
The elaborate guest list of the Ambanis included international celebs like John Cena, Kim Kardarshian, the FIFA President among others. Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Salman Khan and a long list of Indian stars were seen at the wedding!
