The 70th National Film Awards were announced on Friday and Paresh Mokashi's directorial Vaalvi was adjudged the Best Marathi Film. The dark comedy thriller, which features Swapnil Joshi, Subodh Bhave, Anita Date-Kelkar and Shivani Surve, was well-received by the audience and Swapnil says this award is a testament to its creative prowess.
"To say I am thrilled would be an understatement. I am ecstatic that Vaalvi has won recognition at the National Awards," says Swapnil, adding, "I think it's one of the best Indian films to come out in this genre and this award has cemented that fact."

Swapnil also says that it was a treat to work on the film.

"Working with Paresh and Madhugandha Kulkarni (who co-wrote the film with Paresh) was one of the most satisfying creative processes. It was my first collaboration with them, and it resulted in a first National Award recognition for me. It's a film that I will always be proud of," says the actor.
