We’ve launched significant improvements to component usability — with a more intentional experience based on whether you’re managing a main component or building with a component instance on the canvas.
For component authors and managers it’s now clearer to set up and manage modifiable properties within your component, including:
- Straightforward process to create and delete properties
- Clear action items for linking properties and elements
For content editors, our new side panel streamlines the editing process by displaying only the component properties they can modify. Component consumers who want to modify the main instance can still go to the management experience to do that but these are no longer automatically surfaced on the side panel.
These changes give components end users a higher degree of control over the specific task they’re performing, without obfuscating the functionality most relevant to them at that moment.
