Appointment of the members of the CzechELib Expert Board (project activity PA 1 NCIP R&DaI: Ensuring the operation of the CzechELib National Centre), effective from 1 June 2023, for two years. PhDr. Tereza Pavlíčková (NTK) was replaced by Mgr. Lenka Maixnerová (NK ČR).

Open Access to Scientific Information stands for the free availability of scientific publications on the internet (on-line) making it possible for users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search and make references to full texts of articles and to make further use of the articles without financial, legal or technical restrictions.

The NTK has concluded an amendment with CERN at the end of 2022 to extend the SCOAP3 journals phase 3 initiative for another 2 years, i.e. until the end of 2024. The terms and conditions for the period 2023-2024 remain unchanged, the annual fees of the Czech member institutions will be the same for the next two years as for 2020-2022.

On March 2, 2023, we celebrated together the signing of the first Springer Nature transformation agreement with the Czech Republic at the Springer Day event at NTK. At the conference, in addition to a detailed update on the transformation agreement for the Czech Republic and a quick overview of the corporate strategy, we discussed next steps such as "How Springer Nature will support the transition to open access". Thank you all for your participation and active discussion.

NTK has entered into 11 of the 13 transformation contracts for 2023+. Contracts with ACS and AIP publishers are still under negotiation. Access to their resources is secured from 1/1/2023, but article approval will only be operational once the contract is signed.

Wiley, one of the world’s largest publishers and a global leader in research and education, today announced an open access agreement with Czech National Library of Technology (NTK) (CzechELib). More info.

The National Library of Technology signed, through the CzechELib project, the first transformative agreements with the option of publishing in Open Access with the publishers Emerald Publishing and Taylor & Francis Group. Read more.

In 2020, the SCOAP3 for Books working group announced a tender for the transfer of approximately 78 of the most useful pre-selected titles to Open Access. Compared to the original assumptions, there were several changes after the first round of the tender. Read more.
