About Yara
Yara Elmjouie is an award-winning video producer, journalist, and host. When he joined AJ+ in 2016, he started off producing both bite-sized news videos … and elaborately meal-prepped lunches (whose fumes would overtake the office once microwaved). So in 2018, he married his passion for food and journalism to launch what would eventually become “Eat This with Yara,” a short documentary show that looks at the intersection of food and society – sometimes with a comedic twist. The show has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation, the national Daytime Emmy Awards, the Webby Awards, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), and more.
