The Hell 1 was neat.. cant wait to try out The Hell 2... it sounds insane!

For those who can't click or can't be bothered, can someone summarize what the Hell is The Hell 2?

The Hell 1 is/was the most popular mod for Diablo 1: Hellfire, basically adding so much extra stuff that its closer to Diablo 2 than the game it requires to run with. The Hell is in active development for over 8 years (AFAIK) and really adds lots of new things to the game to make it even more fleshed out.

The Hell 2 is basically the same with all aspects vastly improved, lots of other stuff added thats not in the previous mod such as new monsters, classes, items and dungeons. The biggest feature of the new Hell mod is that it can run at native 4k now without any hassle and also has functioning multiplayer. Consider The Hell 2 kinda like "the next step", which is very similar to what Terraria updates represent. So overall, the game got much larger in scale overall.

If its not enough of a description just ask and I explain what kind of stuff got added and changed from the regular game.

Hell 1 was dubious but bearable.

Now, with Hell 2 release, they just ruined the original feel of Diablo 1 gameplay completely. Now it's Diablo 2 in Diablo 1 GUI, only worse.

You mean they want to create a Path of Exile clone ?

I don't know what they meant to achieve initially but they have been overwhelmed by their wish of 'moar everything' in the end.

And grey mana is utter nonsense. Grey. Mana. Your spiritual force is grey, man. Are you a rat or something? 'We wanted more of that dark gothic feeling', I see. 'We wanted more classes so now we have gladiators with gladii in Diablo world'.

It is the greatest art, to stop yourself in the right time, and not to spoil everything with your subjective 'wants'.

How was it compared to the content added in Belzebub? That one felt more like restored cut content than true new things.

I like a lot of features, but I also hate a lot of changes. I really wish you could play the original game in the new game engine, and maybe enable a couple of quality of life features. Seeing a screenshot from Gladiator, the lion gladiator, used as a graphic for an in-game character, does ruin the atmosphere of Diablo.
