Well some people say time but if we are healthy, we get more of it so... ok I'll stop the philosophical rabbit hole.

I love thanksgiving because we eat Turkey and Turkey is my favourite food.
We should make turkey a monthly food. It's great for health and has anticancer effects.
Who likes cancer? Well unless you're Walter, it turned him into the mafia boss

It's partly why I love this holiday. When I was young, I didn't think much about this holiday. I just loved the fact that school was out so I could play video games at home and I could enjoy a feast of food that normally isn't on the table. I was a child and life was much simpler. And I enjoyed it. Life was good and so was the turkey.
As I grew older, this holiday struck me as one of the most meaningful holidays. I hate cancer and I don't want anyone having it. Many of my friends who have fought cancer left an everlasting memory especially those who have been defeated by cancer. It is definitely not an easy battle to the extent that death can be seen as a relief in some cases. But those who are left behind alive will never forget the moments they supported their friend or relative until the end. I still remember how the family would gather for dinner, enjoy turkey and a moment where everyone wasn't looking at their phones and were talking with one another. It might sound cheesy, but saying thank you and feeling content has a very warm feeling that can melt even the grievances frozen for years and buried in a heart as cold as Antarctica
Being grateful doesn't necessarily need to involve gifts. The very essence of content and gratitude is to appreciate the presence of one another, despite how annoying others were to us. Whereas Christmas is more about creating warm moments or embarrassing memories of partying and eggnog...hopefully no one took an embarrassing photo of us, thanksgiving is a holiday of reconciliation.

A good family time to remember

Yea, Thanksgiving beats Christmas. I said it.
(How did a holiday story become a holiday battle...)

So far, I've never heard of people getting an embarrassing photo taken by their friends in Thanksgiving and then used to laugh at them for the rest of their lives.
So, if you ever had an embarrassing photo taken during Thanksgiving, let me know.
I am open-minded to changing my mind.
Make sure to include the photo though for proof.
Don't worry, your secrets will be safe with a cat!
