Ragnar Gudmundsson,
Resident Representative to the Philippines

Mr. Gudmundsson is the IMF’s Resident Representative in the Philippines. Prior to his current position, he was a Senior Economist in the Asia and Pacific Department and the IMF’s mission chief for Macao SAR. He previously served as the IMF’s Resident Representative in Bangladesh from 2017 to 2020, the West Bank and Gaza from 2014 to 2017, and Kenya from 2010 to 2014. Mr. Gudmundsson also worked as an economist on Central and West African countries, and as an advisor in the Office of the Executive Director for France. Before joining the IMF in 1999, he worked for UNESCO’s Analysis and Forecasting Office and the International and Research Departments of the Central Bank of Iceland.
