During a very powerful discussion and event yesterday hosted by HealthTech for Medicaid's Adimika Arthur and featuring Ivor Horn, MD, MPH, Jen Doorly Magaziner, Faith Polkey MD, MPH and Hazel's Josh Golomb and Travis Gayles MD, PhD, Fatima and Kimberly both shared that while technology has been an incredibly powerful tool for so many students, we must continue to find ways to build better relationships and support both students and their families to ensure that everyone can access the care that they need, when they need it the most. 🌟 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗛𝘂𝗯 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 Travis Gayles MD, PhD, Chief Health Officer at Hazel Health, had the pleasure of presenting the Best In Class - Kid's Health award to GoCheck Kids for their work in advancing pediatric screenings to improve health outcomes. Congratulations to the entire GoCheck Kids team and and the finalists NovaSight, nen and Clarity Pediatrics for your ongoing commitment to advancing pediatric care. 🩺 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 Andrea Willis, MD, SVP & Chief Medical Officer at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, Jen Doorly Magaziner, VP of Digital Health at Boston Children's Hospital, Ellen D., CEO & Founder at Summer Health and Mark Del Monte J.D., CEO/Executive Vice President at the American Academy of Pediatrics and Travis Gayles MD, PhD, Chief Health Officer at Hazel celebrated the progress being made in pediatrics and how organizations are coming together to provide better and more accessible care for our younger populations -- but there is still a long way to go. We have to continue to create technology and solutions that easily integrate into communities, we must listen to the patients and children that we are serving, and build seamless pathways for care to improve the lives of children. Ahead of World Mental Health Day, Women Leading Ed & Hazel Health are committed to the growth and development of women in educational leadership. Through this partnership, members of Women Leading Ed will have access to Headspace to improve mental health through meditation, mindfulness and expert-led guidance. Increasingly, we are seeing far too few women – and far too few leaders of color – leading our nation’s largest school districts. Women in educational leadership also report significant obstacles within their career journey, with more than 6 in 10 women considering leaving their jobs due to stress and strain. This partnership will empower women leaders to take care of their mental health to have a positive impact on their own lives – and the lives of the students they serve. #WorldMentalHealthDay

To address the youth mental health crisis and meet children where they spend the majority of their waking hours — in schools — UnitedHealthcare is collaborating with Hazel Health to provide 1 million students access to virtual healthcare services in up to fourteen states by 2025. “It’s time that we break the silos that traditionally separate educators, health care providers, health plans and policymakers to pioneer solutions that ease burdens for families and demonstrate real results for our children." - Josh Golomb, CEO of Hazel Health Read more on this innovative partnership from Krista Nelson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare Community & State here: https://lnkd.in/ecWKNUj6

One thing is for certain: we need to make youth brain & mental health a global priority. Over the past two days, our team joined educators, policy makers, and global leaders at Brain Days during the Science Summit 2024 at the 79th United Nations General Assembly to present solutions to solve one of the most pressing crises of our time. "We're talking about how children's brains are being rewired, while we are here passively allowing that to happen," stated Governor of New York, Kathy Hochul, during the keynote address. "And what it does is it steals precious time and attention from our kids while their brains are still developing. Time that was once spent on a playground, or making friends, learning social skills, exploring nature, joining teams.” Andrew Post, president of Hazel Health, led a panel discussion featuring Alexander Billioux, Chief Medical Officer, Government Programs & SVP for Population Health and Social Care at UnitedHealthcare, Jacqueline Coleman, Lt. Governor of Kentucky, Steve Carnevale, Commissioner, Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission of California, and Angelica Infante-Green, Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education of Rhode Island to underscore the importance of addressing youth mental health and meet children where they are at -- in schools. "The future of our economy are in our classrooms today," stated Lt. Governor Coleman. "Sick kids can't learn. Hungry kids can't learn." Travis Gayles MD, PhD, Chief Health Officer at Hazel, led the final panel of the event featuring Mara Madrigal-Weiss, Chair, Mental Health Services Oversight & Accountability Commission for California, Suzanne Crouch, Lt. Governor of Indiana, Sharon Tomiko Santos, Chair of House Education Committee for Washington, Dianne Primavera, Lt. Governor of Colorado and Aaron Kaufer, House Representative of Pennsylvania. We want to thank all of our speakers, attendees, partners and friends who joined us in New York City. Together, we will co-create an actionable policy agenda that centers on brain health as the top global priority.
