Close a job post on LinkedIn

Last updated: 5 months ago

Your LinkedIn job posts will remain active until you manually close them or after 6 months when they’ll be automatically closed. Additionally, the job post will automatically pause if a total budget is set and met. Billing for your post will continue until the job has been closed. You can close your job post by clicking the Close job button on the Job Info page of that job post.

Important to know

You can repost a job as a new post but once a job is closed, it can’t be reopened. When you repost a job that has been closed, this will create a new job post. All applicant information gathered previously will only be associated with the closed job post.

Important to know

Job posts cannot be deleted. They can only be closed.

To close your job post:
  1. Click the Jobs icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.
  2. Click Manage job posts.
  3. Find the job you wish to close and click the More icon to the right of the title.
  4. Click the Close job button.
  5. Confirm you’d like to proceed with closing the job by Close job.
Once you close a job post:
  • The post will be removed from search results.
  • Applicants will no longer be able to apply to the job post.
  • You will still be able to review the applicant list for the closed job post if you chose to collect the applications on LinkedIn. However, if you chose to route applicants through an external URL or applicant tracking system, the applicant list for the closed job will not be visible on LinkedIn.

Important to know

If the charges for a current job are unable to be processed for any reason, the job will be closed automatically.
