Video sharing troubleshooting

You can share a video on LinkedIn from your computer or mobile device. You can’t upload an unsupported file type and you’ll get an error message if you do so. If you’re experiencing any issues uploading your videos, please check the supported file types and video file requirements below.

Important to know

Please check that your video is one of the supported types of video files. For example, if your file type is ProRes, you may be able to upload it, but it will not be able to process.

Video File Requirements:
  • Maximum file size: 5GB
  • Minimum file size: 75KB
  • Maximum video duration: 15 minutes when uploading from desktop and 10 minutes when uploading from the LinkedIn mobile app.
  • Minimum video duration: 3 seconds
  • Resolution range: 256x144 to 4096x2304
  • Aspect ratio: 1:2.4 - 2.4:1
  • Frame rates: 10fps - 60 fps
  • Bit rates: 192 kbps - 30 Mbps

Notes:

  • While uploading a video from an iOS device, you’ll need to remain in the LinkedIn mobile app. You may experience the upload stall if the LinkedIn mobile app is in the background. However, once the video is uploaded and begins processing, you can use other applications. You should receive a notification when your video is ready to view.

  • While uploading a video from an Android device, you'll still be able to access and use other applications while your video is uploading in the background. You should receive a notification when your video is ready to view.

  • Videos stored on iCloud aren’t supported for upload on the LinkedIn mobile app. To upload the videos stored on your iCloud, you must move the video from your iCloud account to your local phone memory.
