Messaging smart features on LinkedIn

Smart features use automated systems to recognize patterns in LinkedIn Messaging to help you better manage your inbox.

Examples of smart features include:

  • Focused Inbox (sorts messages by relevance)
  • Message nudges (reminds you about messages you haven’t responded to)
  • Smart replies (shows you personalized message response suggestions)

To control smart features:

  1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage.

  2. Click Settings & Privacy.

  3. Click Data Privacy on the left pane.

  4. Under the Messaging experience section, click the Arrow icon next to the smart feature you want to turn on or off.

  5. Toggle right or left to turn a feature on or off.

    • Changes are automatically saved.
