Cognizant has not shied away from taking bold bets. It has had its share of challenges in the past and not all initiatives might have been successful. However, it is encouraging to witness a firm, which many times gets incorrectly clubbed with Indian heritage service providers, to be aspirational in the exciting area of ER&D. As I try to build more perspectives into the ER&D market it is becoming clear that inorganic expansion must be a strategic option for service providers.
