Crafting concise messages

- An executive presence superpower is the ability to be concise, distilling your message into a clear, brief, and memorable headline. Think of it as the art of saying more with less starting with the end in mind. A valuable tool to help with this is Barbara Minto's Pyramid Principle. It's often used in management consulting to distill a message. There are three levels. Top level. Begin with your main message, conclusion, or answer. A lot of the time, we leave our main message to the end so that we can wrap up with a bang, but you might have lost your audience on the way. Second level. Present key points that support the top level message. And third level. Provide data that supports the second level points. To put this into practice, next time you have an idea, summarize it into just one sentence before delving into details, making sure your message is not just heard but remembered.
