Structuring your message

- A common mistake professionals make when sharing ideas on the spot is to feel the pressure to be impressive and then hastily blurt out whatever's on their mind. But this unstructured information dumping can leave listeners wondering, what's the main point to confusing I'm zoning out? When you have an opportunity to speak, take a moment to structure your key points and frame each in a compelling way. Something like, I'd like to propose three suggestions. Start with, the first is inspired by, this captures attention. Follow up with, the second idea is, this is for momentum, and end with, my final suggestion is a little unusual. This brings everyone's attention back. Then, if relevant, conclude with a call to action, or highlight the main takeaway. I'd like to hear everyone's thoughts. Or as you can see, factors A, B, and C will all contribute to growth. It sounds almost too simple, but this structured approach not only enhances understanding, it projects confidence and control.
