- Traumatic experiences are incredibly common. In fact, a recent study conducted by the World Health Organization indicated that approximately 70% of people will have a traumatic experience, with each person likely experiencing an average of three traumatic events in their lifetime. And the COVID-19 pandemic only intensified these reports. In the US alone, there was an 83% hike in trauma-related mental health challenges, which made trauma a much more tangible reality for many. So picture this, you pulled into an office meeting, and there's 10 people around the room. Chances are that over 2/3 of them may carry a history of trauma. You may even be a part of that 2/3. And each of you could be unconsciously bringing that layered history into the interactions you have with one another.
