- [Instructor] We are living in super interesting times where generative AI technology is taking the world by storm, allowing a graphic designer like yourself to take a simple description like this and turning it into that. Or how about this description and then having these images return to you? This technology is just as easy to use as it is to simply type in a sentence and then hit Return. Now, this technology is also as disruptive as it is fascinating, but that's not really stopping graphic designers today from already using all sorts of gen AI technologies. In fact, there was a recent survey conducted by Adobe that made clear that 48% of respondents have said that they have used ChatGPT in their daily workflows. And only 19% of the respondents have said that they have never used any gen AI technology before in their lives, only 19%. So it's clear that designers are already using gen AI technology today, but the question is where, how, and why? The main responses were to help out with creative ideation, to improve productivity and creativity, and to optimize budgets. So it's clear that graphic designers are looking to cut corners, they want to work faster, have more and better ideas. And if you look at some of the examples I've shown you at the beginning of this video, it's just a matter of typing in a sentence and hitting Return. So anyone can basically do this from now on. And this kind of begs the question, is gen AI ever going to replace me as a graphic designer? Well, my opinion on this is no. However, it is really important to understand that with any industry that relies as heavily on technology, hardware and software, like the graphic design industry, adoption is super important. It is really important to get with the program and try and figure out how and when gen AI technology like Adobe Firefly is going to help you in your graphic design process and help you deal with your customers. It is really important to understand that generative AI technology is never going away again. This is here to stay. The genie is out of the bottle and you have to find a way to implement this in your daily workflow. Now, if you talk about creativity, you might say, is gen AI I really going to take on the role of the creative and is it really going to replace human creativity? I don't believe that is what's going to happen. However, there was a different study conducted by Adobe that made clear that 57% of the designers said that gen AI will enhance their productivity and enhance their creativity, and a whopping 75% of Gen Z have also said that this gen AI technology will make them even more creative. So it's clear that we have a ton to talk about, and you will learn everything there is to know about Adobe Firefly here in this course.
