In this segment, we'll cover why it's essential to develop step-by-step instructions for handling every incident. An incident is an unplanned event that disrupts operational or day-to-day activities. Incident management is responding to a disruption to information technology services or business processes. Managing an incident begins as soon as one is reported and continues until operations have resumed normal activity. Whether an incident is security related or not, there are some common guidelines. First, you'll want to respond to the incident. Either make a call, or in some cases, physically go to where the trouble is being reported. Ask questions that will help you narrow the scope.
