The need for speed to COVID-19 research via publications and preprints
This article from The Economist how “Scientific research on the coronavirus is being released in a torrent” explains how journal publications (peer reviewed and typically go through an approval process) and preprints (papers that can be posted swiftly via online repositories with only minimal formalities) help in the current turbocharged public-health emergency.
The need for speed has become paramount for health care professionals, researchers, and policymakers all in need for the latest scientific infromation in order to be able to make immediate decisions.
This is exactly why we released our DISQOVER COVID-19 edition with help from #EUvsVirus hackathon and our ONTOFORCE team to enable everyone to get access to this hyper fast growing amounts of complex research information.
