BEREC launched two public consultations
Draft BEREC Work Programme 2025
During the meeting, the incoming BEREC Chair 2025 Robert Mourik (ComReg, Ireland) presented the Draft BEREC Work Programme 2025, which was launched for public consultation already after the 60th BEREC plenary meetings.
In 2025, BEREC’s work continues to stem from the four general objectives of the EECC and the three strategic priorities of the BEREC Strategy 2021-2025, and it is aligned with the BEREC Action Plan 2030. Moreover, it aims to be consistent with the vision, targets, and roadmaps for Europe’s digital transformation by 2030.

Draft BEREC Report on the evolution of the private and public 5G networks in Europe
The Co-Chairs of the Wireless Network Evolution Working Group presented the Draft BEREC Report on the evolution of the private and public 5G networks in Europe, which was adopted for public consultation during the 60th BEREC plenary meetings.
While the report sets out information from the NRAs’ perspective, BEREC intends to enhance the factual overview presented with the relevant views from stakeholders on:
the extent of the use of private and public 5G networks in Europe;
the relevant numbering aspects for private networks;
the drivers for, and requirements of, private networks;
the evolution of private networks aimed at meeting new user demands for specific user groups;
the relevant 5G case studies and interrelations between private and public 5G networks.

BEREC Chair 2026 & Vice-Chairs 2025
During the BEREC public debriefing, the BEREC Chair Tonko Obuljen informed participants about the outcomes of the elections that took place during the 60th BEREC ordinary meetings. The Board of Regulators elected Mr Marko Mišmaš, Director of the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (AKOS), as BEREC Chair for 2026.
Moreover, Tonko Obuljen informed that the Board of Regulators elected two new Vice-Chairs for 2025 - Alejandra de Iturriaga Gandini, Director of Telecommunications and Audiovisual Sector at the Spanish regulator CNMC, and Daniela Brönstrup, Vice President of the German regulator BNetzA. Together with Tonko Obuljen as outgoing BEREC Chair, Robert Mourik as the BEREC Chair 2025, and Marko Mišmaš as incoming BEREC Chair 2026, they compose the Mini-bord 2025.
The Mini-board 2025 is completed by the newly elected representative of participants without voting rights Liliia Malon, the Commissioner of the Ukrainian regulator NCEC. Tonko Obuljen stressed that it is the first time that Ukraine is represented in the Mini-board.
The next BEREC public debriefing will take place online on 11 December 2024. At stake, the outcomes of the 61st BEREC ordinary meetings.
