Tomorrow, we celebrate Independence Day in the US -- a time to reflect on the principles that our nation was founded upon.   Privacy is one of the foundational pillars of modern democracies, and this year the US has made significant strides in protecting this important right. Notable examples include the introduction of the Americans’ Privacy Rights Act (APRA), privacy legislation in states including Utah, Texas, Florida and Oregon, and the Protecting Americans’ Data from Foreign Adversaries Act of 2024, among others. These are crucial steps in ensuring the protection of privacy and, by extension, democracy and independence.   As we celebrate our independence this week, let’s also highlight our commitment to privacy and the ongoing efforts to protect this foundational aspect of our democracy! 🗽🔐🌟
