LinkedIn: When your job description says "disruption specialist" but your actual job is answering emails and microwaving leftovers for the CEO 😂 But really though: Job descriptions must accurately reflect the job. Fair and square! Considering that many job seekers apply due to their: - Enthusiasm for the required skills. - Expertise and experience in the required skills. - Expectations of the fulfilling workplace outlined in your job ad. Companies should just list the actual skills and what the job's all about. For job seekers avoiding such companies, try these: - Explore employee reviews of potential employers on sites like Glassdoor. - Ask detailed task-related questions during interviews. - Search the company on LinkedIn and connect with 2-3 recent hires. Ask about their experiences at the workplace. And if you still end up in a company where you're underutilized and unsatisfied? Well, it's never too late to get back on the #JobSearch. Let's get you hired right! I've seen job postings that require years of experience in Java, Python, SQL, Windows Server 2019, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SCCM, PowerShell and Bash scripting, and VMware vSphere. The starting salary would be roughly the same as my current salary, and I don't use most of the mentioned technologies in my current role and I have a little to no experience in some of them smh 🤦♂️

Here’s another view…When you interview for a job and get hired because of all the great accomplishments and innovative ideas you’ve described from your previous experience, but once on board, everyone tells you, 'That'll never work here; we do it this way,' leaving you wondering, 'Why did you hire me then?
