In 2012, Silindra earned her Masters of Education with a specialization in Organization Leadership and PreK-12 Principal’s Licensure at Cleveland State University. She then went and taught middle school ELA at a charter school, in Ohio. Her dedication to excellence quickly elevated Silindra to a building leadership position as Dean of Student Life and Management, then to building principal the next year. Wanting to explore the education landscape of the great state of California, Silindra pursued a fellowship with Education Pioneers. After being accepted in 2014, Silindra moved to California to work on a 10-week project with the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD), where she helped then Office of School Quality Review create a tool to assess schools' academic and cultural strengths and weaknesses. Following her fellowship, she received a full-time position as a Talent School Partner, with OUSD, where she supported an entire network of administrators within the District and provided leadership around how to confront staff who were struggling. Her work required her to understand effective teaching strategies and to document performance deficiencies with supporting evidence. In addition to her role at SFUSD, Silindra also serves as an Adjunct Professor at San Francisco State University (SFSU), where she teaches in the Department of Elementary Education. Summary: Hello hello! To humbly reintroduce myself, my good friends and peers call me Ari. I am a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Occidental College with a Bachelor's Degree in English (Creative Writing Emphasis). I began my freelancing journey in 2016, and have since then been formally trained and certified for writing in news, business, fiction, and film. I started putting these skills to the test eight years ago, give or take. I mainly freelanced remotely between schoolwork and extracurriculars, self-publishing thrice on free media sites and hitting up Reedsy Writing Competitions. In 2022, I had the wonderful pleasure of studying with CIEE Prague for Journalism and Film. I spent that semester living in an apartment in Czechia, where I had the honor of attending both Charles University for Journalism and FAMU (Prague Film School) for Screenwriting. I know conversational Czech and rudimentary Polish, though I'm strongest in my home languages of English and Spanish. I've been leaning into that strength in my research projects surrounding translation theory, where I mainly observe how classical literature in English and Spanish cross borders and take on new life in different cultural ecosystems. I've had the happy experience of conducting research in collaboration with Professor W. Montag, and presented my findings at SCCUR Fullerton and NCCUR Long Beach.
