During the pandemic, I volunteered with Habitat for Humanity. I enjoyed the process of building a home for a family that was within their financial means and provided them comfort and the opportunity to design the space and make it their own. I love the idea of creating smaller homes with a modern design and open-concept floor plans. I am drawn to the idea of tiny home communities and the creation of “pocket” neighborhoods to bring people together. I am passionate about sustainability and finding ways to incorporate green building materials and techniques and the idea of “net zero” buildings. ▶MY EXTRA EDGE I began my professional life working in the film and video industry. There are many parallels with the architectural design field: • Creativity: Connecting ideas in new and exciting ways. • Technical Skills: Using software to make an idea accessible. • Attention to Detail: Success depends on the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies • Conceptual Modeling: Projects always begin with a plan. • Teamwork and Collaboration: Creative projects depend heavily on allied specialists. • Visioning: This is the beginning of all projects, growing from an understanding of the main issues at stake. • Audience: The client remains at the center of the project. •Constraints of budget and time: Resources drive the project. • Risk-taking: A willingness to try something new can lead to innovation. Skills that are gonna make me successful so Addison young age I started shoveling driveways I walked to Lil baseball sports car stores looking for work I went to barbershop sweeping floors to make a few bucks I went to auto motive shops to learn how to change tires and so forth tinker on tires it wasn’t till I moved a Henrietta I got kicked out a rush from the Atta and center Boces in Fairport when I really knew that it was really time to take these vocational classes seriously because educational classes weren’t so great for me so through my course at Boces I’ve took in photography culinarily arts Automotive classes building and grounds maintenance classes you name it I was trying to learn it tested out of Boces at 16 with my GED which I failed the written essay part So from there I went to work and restaurants as sous chefs so when I realized the hours were long the work was fun but the pay wasn’t getting me by so I went to work out for my cousin remodeling a little bit more and then onto my own around 24and then successively running my own company for the last 10 years although I wish my education school was a little bit better I’ve been doing great and every single day I Surprise people so all I can say is don’t judge a by the background but what is shown to you because some the most Decorated backgrounds be the worst candidates
