Summary: Since establishing ODA in 2007, Eran Chen has earned a reputation for mold-breaking designs that will deliver a better urban future. Having completed more than 50 buildings in just over a decade, he has become one of the most prolific architects in New York. Eran’s work has been widely published around the world and recognized by the AIA, the Society of American Registered Architects and others. In addition to guest lectures globally, Eran is a professor at Columbia University and New York University. His recent projects include the renovation of the former Postkantoor in Rotterdam, a mass-timber residential building in Washington D.C., and the conversion of a defunct parking garage into a public park and class A office building in Buenos Aires. His writings on architecture have been published in ODA’s book, Unboxing New York.

Summary: Native New Yorker, So walk faster or get out of my way! I started in construction in 2012, performed every major role, and dealt with all aspects of the project cycle. I’ve worn many hard hats as a construction superintendent and third-party inspector and have developed many projects from conception to close out as the Project manager. Much of my experience has come from the high-intensity, fast-paced fit-out for commercial spaces but my love for the industry comes from the detail-oriented luxury design of residential homes. I have completed numerous projects throughout my career and there is nothing more satisfying than handing the keys over to a client on a project that was finished on time and within budget. A well-executed plan with tangible results drives my passion for construction with concrete, superstructures, foundations, and MEP systems being my favorite stages of a project because of their impact on the project's progress. I like to specialize in making the impossible possible and succeed where others have not. Every completed project drives me to the next bigger and better one. When I was younger, I could have never imagined being where I am today. I always thought that it would take me 30 years just to become a project manager but by simply asking questions, bringing effective ideas to the table, managing people and their expectations, and taking on problems head-on, I have been able to establish myself within the industry. I am happy to say that my quest for learning and growing continues to this day and I still look forward to the next project.
