The Southwest Clean Air Agency believes in the transparency of air quality and has five permanent AQ monitors along with many Purple Air monitors located on private properties. You can avoid what you see, but invisible fine particulates can reach deep into the lungs and bloodstream. Also called particulate matter (PM) this harmful pollution is under PM10 and PM2.5 micrometers in size. Exposure to fine particulates can cause health effects such as eye, nose, throat and lung irritation, coughing, sneezing, runny nose, and shortness of breath. Even short-term exposure can cause long-term health effects. Please, be aware of our air and don't be a source of air pollution.
Select the air quality measure from the buttons above the map (All, PM2.5, O3, etc). Then click on a station circle or select from the station list to see additional details. For current hour Air Quality values see the Current Air Quality indicators on our Home Page.
If you are ready to research air quality monitors, a great place to start is the EPA Air Sensor Toolbox.
