Abdus Miya

Youth Politician

As the youngest candidate in the last federal elections, he challenged the current Prime Minister and continues to inspire his semi-urban constituency in Gorkha with his vision of transformative leadership. Beyond politics, Abdus serves as a Board Member at the Trade Union Policy Institute, GEFONT, and as Secretary of the Central Department of Disaster Management & Volunteering at CPN (UML), underscoring his commitment to labor rights and community resilience. I am Dr Manita Shrestha Rajkarnikar, Medical Doctor. I live in Mahalaxmi Sthan Chock Lalitpur Nepal. I studied my MD Medicine at Comenius University Bratislava Czechoslovakia and completed it in 1992. I did my one-year internship practice in Bratislava as well. At Paropakar Maternity and Women's Hospital, Thapathali, Kathmandu, Nepal worked as a Residential Medical Officer for 3 years. At TUTH along with Kanti Children Hospital in the Neonatology and pediatric department for one year. I joined NRCS in 1997 and worked as a Medical Officer till 2002, as Deputy Director till 2004, and since 2005 as a Director till 2022.

Manoj Gyawali

With over two decades of experience in the banking and finance sector, Manoj has served in leadership roles at NRB, Global IME Bank, Global IME Capital, and Jyoti Bikash Bank. Currently, he is the Deputy CEO of Nabil Bank Ltd., overseeing HR, Finance, Recovery, Media, Contractor Business, and CSR. Manoj is also dedicated to academia, teaching BBA and MBA students for over 16 years at institutions like KUSOM and British College. His contributions have earned him prestigious awards such as the राष्ट्रिय सेवा सम्मान 2074 and the Banking Leadership Award 2024 by Exito Award.

Prajwal Bhattarai

As a prominent figure in youth activism, nonprofit leadership, and SDG advocacy, with a career spanning over a decade, he began as a program coordinator in high school and has been dedicated to empowering future leaders ever since. A law graduate specializing in corporate law, he advocates for legal literacy, research, and access to justice. Prajwal's innovative projects and leadership have earned him multiple world records and recognition on prestigious platforms. As the founding president of Scholastic Foundation Nepal and former board member, he has led national and international programs focused on youth leadership, startups, and social entrepreneurship. His work in law and policy research, corporate consultation, and youth empowerment continues to inspire the next generation. As the strategic advisor of 100s Group and Sowers Action Nepal, his efforts have been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the ‘Sikshya Jyoti Padak’ from the President of Nepal, the Outstanding Director of the Year 2021 at the Asia Star Rating Award, the Outstanding Authors Excellence Award from Beyond Books Publication, Philippines, and the Fames Times International Excellence Award 2023 in Dubai. He has also received international recognition, including the Bronze Medal at the World Youth Invention and Innovation Award 2021, Indonesia, and YDC Case Study Winner, selected as one of the top twenty YDC winners at mEducation Alliance. He has also received the ‘Youth Leadership Award’ at the Royal Thai Army Club in Bangkok. He was invited as the guest and keynote speaker at the 8th Pacific Luminare Award in Manila, Philippines. He has received an Honor from World Book of Records, UK, and the prestigious Star 2021 award from the Indo-UK Forum for his contribution to youth empowerment, academics, and leadership during the pandemic. He has been featured in various international and national newspapers, magazines, cover pages, and media mentions. Prajwal’s story was also highlighted in the book '30 Shining Stars of the World 2022,' which was published in four languages. He has undertaken corporate empowerment, mass event consultation, and youth initiatives at both national and international levels.

Sunil Babu Pant

First Openly Gay member of the Parliament In Asia from Nepal
Sunil is a pioneering activist and a former member of Nepal’s Constituent Assembly, renowned for his significant contributions to the Nepalese LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities. As the founder of the Blue Diamond Society (BDS) in 2002, he led an organization that now consists of over 20 groups with more than 120,000 members, advocating tirelessly for equal rights and justice. In 2008, Sunil made history by being elected to Nepal’s Constituent Assembly, representing the Communist Party United. During his tenure, he played a key role in rewriting Nepal’s constitution and championed equal justice and economic rights. Despite facing threats and challenges, Sunil and the BDS have remained steadfast in their mission to support and uplift the LGBT community in Nepal.
