Energy-Related Events Featured at COP29 in Baku


Energy issues will be high on the agenda at Climate COP29, taking place from 11 to 22 November in Baku, Azerbaijan. To kick off, as part of the leaders' summit on 12 November, a ministerial dialogue will examine scaling up investment for tripling renewables and doubling energy efficiency, to drive implementation of targets agreed at COP28. On the same day there will also be a high-level roundtable on energy focusing on advancing climate mitigation action. The COP29 thematic day on energy, on 15 November, will feature a high-level roundtable on green energy, hydrogen and global energy storage and grids, as well as an event on making 2024 the pivotal year for clean cooking.

UN-Energy members are organizing over fifty events during the COP on wide-ranging aspects of a just energy transition, including key issues such as expanding investment, clean cooking, critical minerals, linkages with updated NDCs and Energy Compact commitments and partnerships.
