Outdoor athletes, especially those training at altitude, are at a greater risk for sun-damaged skin and skin cancer. We developed WTHR's Protect line with this in mind, looking for an easy way to shield our sensitive facial skin from the sun. Each WTHR product in the Protect line is made with non-nano Zinc Oxide, a mineral sunscreen with broad spectrum UVA and UVB protection that's also Hawaii Reef Compliant. We also chose packaging that was big enough to make application a breeze, but small and light enough to fit in your pocket or pack. The oval shape makes it easier to grip with a gloved or sweaty hand.

Beyond sun protection, we also wanted our formulations to support and restore the sensitive skin on our face from wind, dry air, and other weather conditions. The natural skin barrier on our face isn't as strong as on other parts of the body, leading to more water loss and that dry, itchy feeling we all hate. Every WTHR product contains Microalgae Oil, a biobased emollient which helps to reduce the skin’s moisture loss and assist in the absorption of other beneficial active ingredients.
