The Spirited: Origins is an interactive fiction horror game. In TS:O you take the role of an amateur paranormal investigator who jump-starts their career with a case of a demonic entity, while being haunted by their own inner demons.

The game is entirely text-based, and driven by your choices. Create and shape your P.I.; their identity and looks, their personality, their fears. Develop relationships, take on new cases and see the impact your decisions have on the world around you.

• This game is a work in progress and the public demo is free to play while in development.
• This game is rated 18+ for mature content and graphic descriptions of violence. A list of trigger warnings has been included in the title screen.
• This game is written in British English.

Social. Selfless. Stumbling down… Small freckles adorn her dark skin, not many, as if someone lightly sprinkled them over her nose. You didn’t notice them that first night, did you? Maybe the rain that soaked her hair had simply washed them all away.

Gnarly. Guilty. Going, going, gone... His roots have all grown out. Has it really been this long? Underneath the washed out silver, dry now from lack of care, his raven black hair tries to break free. Brown eyes looking up, there’s no more fight in them.

Vivid. Visionary. Violent ends… You realise it’s rude to stare, but it’s also hard not to look… From behind a brown lock of hair green eyes scan you in return. You were expected to look. What was the expected reaction?

Reserved. Revengeful. Resenting you…  Even in this place, even behind the long dark strands of hair, those blue eyes couldn’t shine any brighter. Skin paler than the moon. Where has the moon gone, anyway?

Lively. Loyal. Lamentable fate… Nimble hands tie his dark blonde waves of hair back. His neck now exposed, your eyes drift to the tattoo — has it always been there? Red rose, melting, dripping down his tan broad shoulders. He gives a small uplifting smile.
