After creating the first website, now let's move on to the main component: the page.
A page in Microsoft Power Pages (webpage) acts as a container of static and/or dynamic components, identified by a unique URL.
The main tool is the Pages Workspace which through a low-code approach allows you to design and build the pages of our website.
To add a new page, open the Design Studio at https://make.powerpages.microsoft.com, select the Pages Workspace on the left, and then click +
In the next step, enter the name of the new page and choose between the two types of layouts available:
- Standard layout
- Custom layouts
In this context, for simplicity, I recommend that you select the empty standard layout. The following standard layouts are currently available:
- Empty
- Landing page
- Main page
- Secondary page
- Contact us
Also, it's useful to know that Microsoft Power Pages allows you to create custom layouts to cover any scenario
In this case, however, more in-depth experience with the tool is required. In fact, it will be necessary to move from a low-code customization to a pro-code one that requires the use of Page Templates (I will show you later how to make one!)
Returning to the initial example of the page with an empty layout, it will then confirm you to see both the main navigation area and the website navigation bar updated
For pro-code users there is also the possibility to interact directly with the code by selecting the editor shortcut
At this point the page is saved and you can click the preview button to view it in the browser
After the creation of the page, it is of course possible to modify it to add other components than those proposed by the selected layout. In fact, by selecting + you can first add a new type of section
And then add one of the following components to it:
- Text
- Pulsating
- Image
- Video
- Spacer
- Power BI
- List (Datverse)
- Form (Dataverse)
- IFrame
At this point the first page is correctly grafted into your website. In the next article I will show you how to change the style of the website.
