Learn Live: Intelligent Apps on AKS

Join us so we can learn together with our Cloud Native Advocacy team and friends how we can make Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) an excellent part of our intelligent application. We’ll use the AKS Store Demo application and learn how to add AI integration, expand, support, and scale to meet the needs of your applications.

Join us for this live learning experience where you will be guided by subject matter experts through the Learn modules below in real time along with developers around the globe. Earn badges, prepare for certifications and Learn Live with a great community! See you there :)

Deploying Intelligent Apps with OpenAI on Azure Kubernetes Service

Deploying Intelligent Apps with OpenAI on Azure Kubernetes Service: February 21, 2024 9:00AM - 10:30AM (Pacific)

Join us to learn how to effectively deploy an intelligent microservice-based application into Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and integrate with Azure OpenAI. We’ll walk through setting up the application environment, deploying Azure OpenAI services and configuring a deployment of an existing model, and integrating that with our application. In this episode, you will:

  • Learn how to extend existing microservices with AI capabilities.
  • Learn how to use Entra Workload Identities to secure access to Azure OpenAI Services.
  • Understand using progressive enhancement to integrate AI capabilities in existing applications.
Bring Your Own AI Models to Intelligent Apps on AKS with Kaito

Bring Your Own AI Models to Intelligent Apps on AKS with Kaito  : February 28, 2024 9:00AM - 10:30AM (Pacific)

Join us to learn how to run open-source Large Language Models (LLMs) with HTTP-based inference endpoints inside your AKS cluster using the Kubernetes AI Toolchain Operator (KAITO). We’ll walk through the setup and deployment of containerized LLMs on GPU node pools and see how KAITO can help reduce operational burden of provisioning GPU nodes and tuning model deployment parameters to fit GPU profiles. In this episode, you will:

  • Learn how to extend existing microservices with AI capabilities.
  • Understand using progressive enhancement to integrate AI capabilities in existing applications.
  • Learn how to use open source or custom Large Language Models (LLM) with existing applications.
  • Learn how to run open source or custom Large Language Models on Azure Kubernetes Service
Enhance Observability of Your Intelligent Apps on AKS

Enhance Observability of Your Intelligent Apps on AKS: March 6, 2024 9:00AM - 10:30AM (Pacific)

In this session, we will walk through improving our understanding of how our intelligent apps are performing using the Azure Monitor Managed Service for Prometheus and Azure Managed Grafana. Additionally, we will improve our understanding of what our services cost, allowing us to find optimization opportunities, improve anomaly detection, and generally build a better understanding of how our services work together, all using the AKS Cost Analysis add-on. In this episode, you will:

  • Learn how to use Prometheus-style metrics with Azure Monitor.
  • Learn how to visualize application and infrastructure state with Azure Managed Grafana.
  • Learn how to use the AKS Cost Analysis add-on to monitor the different aspects of your AKS environment.
Taking Your Intelligent App Global with AKS

Taking Your Intelligent App Global with AKS: March 13, 2024 9:00AM - 10:30AM (Pacific)

Once we have our intelligent application running, it’s time to make it scale. Using globally-scalable services like Azure CosmosDB and Azure Front Door, along with AKS Fleet Manager, we can take bring our intelligent apps closer to their consumers, while providing a consistent operating experience for the developers and operations personnel responsible for the service. In this episode, you will:

  • Learn how to scale microservices from one AKS cluster in one region to across the globe.
  • Identify scaling bottlenecks and Azure services that can mitigate scaling problems.
  • Learn how to use Azure Fleet Manager to manage multiple AKS clusters.
