MIT parents have many opportunities to connect with and actively participate in the life of the Institute. From Campus Preview Weekend to Family Weekend to Commencement, through lectures, athletic events, volunteering, giving opportunities, and so much more, parents can share with their students the richness of the MIT experience.
Postdoctoral scholars play a vital role in the Institute’s vibrant academic and research community. Today, more than 1,500 postdocs pursue research and training in over 50 MIT centers, departments, programs, and labs.
Past and present postdocs with MIT appointments of nine months or longer can search for and connect with MIT alumni and postdocs in their field, area of expertise, or location through the MIT Alumni Association’s Online Alumni Directory (OAD). OAD access is available through the Infinite Connection (IC), the Alumni Association’s database of record.
MIT postdocs with an existing IC account can access the OAD directly through that account. Those who forget their user ID are encouraged to submit the Infinite Connection User ID Request Form.
Postdocs without an IC account should expect to receive a message from the Alumni Association providing an IC user ID and registration instructions after nine months with MIT. Those who do not receive or cannot locate the message may request to be added through the MIT Postdoc Infinite Connection Request Form.
NOTE: Only postdocs with MIT appointments of nine months or longer can register for an IC account. Postdocs with an IC account will have access to the online alumni directory. However, they are not eligible for an @alum.mit.edu email address. The @alum.mit.edu email address is only offered to MIT alumni members.
Widows and widowers of MIT alumni and faculty play active, important roles in the MIT community. Learn more about the Emma Rogers Society, a group of more than 5,000 individuals who stay engaged with the Institute and with one another throughout the year- on and off campus.
