I've owned multiple pairs of AirPods over the years—standard, Pro, and even the Max version. Up until now, my favorite had always been the first-generation AirPods Pro. But after debating whether or not to get the second-generation AirPods Pro, I finally took the plunge, and I’m glad I did. Here’s what I’ve noticed after using them.
The biggest improvement I noticed right away was the noise cancellation. I spend a lot of time in loud environments, whether it's in a workshop or just crowded spaces, and the V2’s ANC works much better at filtering out background noise. There’s also this new feature where it seems to adjust based on voices around you, something that wasn’t in the first version. It’s made a noticeable difference when I need to focus or block out distractions.
In terms of sound, I wouldn’t say it’s a night-and-day difference, but the bass feels more punchy in this new version. The sound is crisper overall, but unless you’re really paying attention, the upgrade might seem subtle.

Plus, Apple finally switched to USB-C charging, which feels long overdue. AppleCare+ remains as good as ever, and I continue to recommend it for all Apple products. These are fantastic ear buds
Well first off, I have been an AirPod guy for a while.I have also been a cheap AirPod guy too, meaning I have always bought the basic ones and been pretty happy with them, for the most part. I’m a carpenter and so things get treated a bit rough with me but I have always longed for something a bit better, meaning better quality sound, maybe some noise cancelation and just a better ear bud all around. I really wanted to have that precision “find me app” quality that AirTags have but the older more basic air pods don’t have it. They claimed to but not once did they play a sound and not once could I find them with the find my app, these have the precision locating and also play a loud tone .. but also (see below)Recently I ran my latest AirPods through the washer. Caught it early… but honestly too late, the charging case was full of water and went directly into rice. R.I.P old ear buds. They didn’t make it , let’s have a moment of silence for them plz…Okay ! So the new AirPod pro 2(second gen) came and I instantly patted myself on the back for opting for the $199 upgrade just to see if all the hype was true.. it is !!The second I put them in my ears, the entire world arround me disappeared. Silence to the point of “is that fan off? Because normally it’s loud AF, thought me, took out the AirPods and yup it was still loud.The noise cancellation is insanely good !!The amazing sound quality of music is just that, amazing, and this little bundle of joy is worth its weight in gold with all of the customizable settings they offer, heck you can even take a pic of your ear and it will tell u what supplied plug covers are best suited for your ear, as well as a sound test option to make sure you are getting every cent out of these.Now I also bought a waterproof/crush proof case, the Catalyse ones you see in pic above so we don’t have anymore washing machine accidents.So the question still remains, is the extra $100 dollars for pro 2’s worth it ?For me that’s a resounding yes.Never would I opt for “refurbished” AirPods.. nothing about that sounds appealing.These should last me at least a couple of years, where as my old basic AirPods might have lasted 6 months. I found that the basic ones sound and stuff diminished rapidlySo “treat yo-self” to the AirPod 2 pros, again I repeat, the second I put them in my ears, I knew I made the right decision.So why don’t you?Get a protective case too, they are amazing.
