    After I figured that one links this device to your ear buds and not your phone I was good to go. Instructions provided are for Apple AirPods but I had different brand ear plugs. First step is get AirFly fully charged and instructions provided tell you how to check charge level. Turn off any device already connected to your ear buds. See photos. Next for non-Apple brand earplugs turn on the AirFly and remove the earbuds from their carrying case. Hold buds close to AirFly. The buds should go into pairing mode with AirFly after a few seconds. I got AirFly to replace cumbersome over the ear noise cancellation head phones. See comparison photo with head phones next to AirFly. Less is so much better. The headphones came with two cables; one to charge the headphones and the other to plug into device such as movies on airplanes. AirFly has one small cable to for charging. To plug into movie jack on back of seat the short cable jack does it all. The AirFly worked just great on two long distance airline trips. No more cable between my head and back of seat to get all tangled up when getting in/out of seat. My ear buds provide a degree of noise cancellation, not as good as over the ear headphones. But after plane ride I don't have bulky headphones to carry around for rest of vacation.

    I love my AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro Max but could never use them on long international flights to watch in-flight movies due to the airline’s proprietary headphones. Heard about Airfly from a colleague and was so glad that I got them for a recent international trip. I got the pro model which allowed the pairing of 2 headphones as well as the ability to “send” music from the phone to the Airfly unit which then can be connected to input to a speaker or car head unit to stream music via the wired headphone style jack. The pairing took some work and wasn't as painless as I had hoped for. But in the end, I was able to pair both my AirPods Pro and AirPods Pro Max to the unit. Just have to make sure that the Bluetooth connections to the paired phones and the tablets are turned off (and it says that in the Airfly instructions also .. duh). Once paired, the unit works flawlessly. Just connected the unit via the wired headphone-style jack to the airplane's headphone out (if it is a 3-prong connector just connect to one and it works). There is no delay between the audio and video and the sound quality is superb. The battery life is rated to be 25 hours. Worked great for the 16-hour flight. The unit has a USB-C charging port which can also be used to charge the unit while it is streaming. I tried that while on the flight but it created a horrible buzzing noise. I wasn't able to recreate that at home so I am chalking that as the interference on the plane's onboard power circuit. All in all, it is a very nice and compact device that extends the ability to use your beloved wireless headphones beyond the typical Bluetooth phone/tablet connectivity. It is now a permanent addition to my travel kit!

    I've found the AirFly to be easy to connect to and it does exactly what it's supposed to do - transmit sound to my bluetooth earbuds. I've used it for a couple hours daily for a few months and it works great. However, after a couple months, the on/off switch stopped functioning, making it impossible to turn off. I contacted Twelve South and, with just a couple simple steps, they quickly sent out a replacement unit. Great customer service.

    I ordered this in February for travel, it worked well for the first few months but stopped working within 6 months. The warranty is only 60 days, the automated warranty system works well, however it tells you that you will be contacted in 3-5 days.

    The company honored the warranty and is sending a replacement. Greatly appreciated as this is a great product for people who travel a great deal.
