This is my 2nd 8-inch Fire tablet. For the most part, I am an Apple person, all Apple, all the time. EXCEPT for their tablet. Apple's security system is absolutely nightmarish. Amazon's is not. And everything that I cannot do on my already-set-up phone and computers, I can do on my 8-inch Fire. The thought of going through Apple's account retrieval process - again - is simply out of the question. I use the Fire for reading, watching TV and movies on the go, for games, and for music. It is purely for entertainment. I just love it. And the price is right. I got the little stand that lets me watch movies while in the bathtub. I need reading glasses. With the fire, I can increase the size of the print and brightness of the page. I simply cannot praise this device enough. Beyond highly recommended!!!

Kindle be number 1 for every book.I bought this amazon fire tablet to replace using my phone. Yes there Pinterest youtube and Facebook can be added on.When it's low batte and shut off; it doesn't lower the batter like a kindle. Kindle be a sleep and battler get little lower. I just go on 2 app my spofity and kindle app and batter hasn't die in 7hr it on 75% battle

Picked this up because of the deal. I had the 2022 8" version and have learned to pretty much only use it for reading as the rest can be pretty slow.
However, this new fire is much snappier than it's predecessor. I can actually browse on Amazon and web browse with no issues. I'd compare it speed wise to the fire 10". I just prefer the smaller size of the 8".
My main use for my fire is reading and I love having it on dark mode, the blue light filter on, and a matte screen protector and I'm good to go. I prefer the size and I love seeing my books in color.
Overall I love it. It's not a high end tablet, but if you plan to use it for reading, media consumption or light games, it's perfect.
Also the 2022 versions cases fit this tab as well. I put my case from my old tab on here and it fit perfectly.
