really big fan of this game, the artstyle and audio are done so well, especially the animations on the sprites! i liked the variety of plants you can set up too.
i will say it took me a while to figure out what was going on lol, for a fully fledged implementation of this game a tutorial would be nice.

i see the vision with the implementation of the theme but i believe it could've been done a bit better. there was very little prep time between nights, and i think it would've flown a lot better to have the upgrades either pause the game or happen during the prep phase of the night.

overall though, i actually really loved this game! i found it very fun to play with a lot of character and potential for further development of this idea!

(technical issue btw, this game started really lagging after i got to wave 3 due to the sheer amount of things happening. dont know if it was a browser related issue though)

i really like the idea of a bullet hell with a limited movement/shooting system like this, felt like there was more thought into moving especially, prioritizing positioning instead of dodging

i think some kind of limiting ammo system wouldve been a bit better, once i got triple shot i kind of just vomited bullets and took out a lot of the challenge

it wasn't super obvious when i took damage, some of the hitboxes felt a little forgiving when shooting at things and punishing when getting shot at

really satisfying bullet shooting noises with some epic music in the background was great!

i thought the theme was a bit loosely applied, but an upgrade system is hard to design and balance in a limited time like this so understandable.

great work, good implementation of a simple concept, very fun to play!

very smooth, controls are really responsive, i liked how quick i was able to just hop in and play!

i like the idea behind setting up turrets and playing around them, good concept with a good use of the theme!

however, i didnt find the turrets to be particularly useful, nor did i find it very enjoyable to play around them and found myself shooting a lot more instead (which did feel really good!)

some recommendations to test out:

-turrets see in a cone instead of a straight line, with the cone being explicitly visible to the player

-change staring direction of the turrets. i found that placing them on the bottom of the screen was the only useful spot for them

-have some enemies that chase you down with a tigher angle so you can bait them into the turret better

-maybe visible enemy line path, akin to that of a tower defense game like bloons

-more varied turrets

some of these suggestions are probably due to the time limitations, but i think this can be developed into a bit more indepth gameplay! great work

played a couple waves and upgrading the ship a bit. very fun implementation of the theme, i like the gameplay loop of cycling between looking for resources/upgrading and then using your upgrades. the outside ship exploration was a fun little minigame, i wish there were some obstacles out there to make it a bit more intriguing.

i thought the upgrades were a little basic, but given the time frame of the jam that makes sense. specifically though, i didnt like the second upgrade for the gun, i thought the spread made it hard to shoot asteroids. also, if you hold left click while in the shooting stage and your at zero energy, it spams you with the audio clip of being out of energy.

overall, great submission and creative use of the theme!!

i got a headache but it was really good i'd play it again

absolutely loved this game, theres so much charm to the art style! i liked how complex the clues got as the game went on

couldn't play the game, the exe for windows also needs the .pck file when you export a godot file

really cute use of the theme!! the graphics and audio were also very well done

game felt very smooth and responsive, especially really liked the sound effects and background music! also the three shot dog is a menace, really liked how intimidating he was
