Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040826 Firefox/0.9.1+ Can confirm the bug on Firefox 2004-08-26 on Windows. Symptoms are On the main Page of http://slashdot.org/, the text doesn't appear. However, if you scroll to the right, you can see the text. However, the background color is black, so the text can't be read. Only links can be read, as they show up in Slashdot green.

I see this bug quite often, too. It doesn't happen every time by a long shot - reloading the main page several times just now, I've seen it about half the time. Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040803

I can also confirm this on Win2k with 0.9.3 (20040803). Viewing slashdot articles frequently results in content being position one screen width to the right. Hitting refreshing once or twice results in a correctly rendered page. I'll try and get a screenshot attached. Possibly related to bugs #166705 or #175364?

This looks like a duplicate of bug #217527. It has a lot more information about this problem.

It is a duplicate - this bug has been fixed on the trunk. It remains in the branches for Mozilla 1.7.x and Firefox 1.0PR/1.0RC/1.0 because the fix for it causes other issues. Jim - thanks for pointing it out. When you've done a few of those, you can request bugzilla permissions to do it yourself - see http://www.mozilla.org/quality/help/bugzilla-privilege-guide.html *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 217527 ***
