The Tallest Tower
Build a tower to the highest reaches of heaven in order to find enlightenment up there - don't ask me why it had to be so high up. How close can you get to being truly at peace, in terms of metres?
This game was fun to make! I think. I guess it's not really got much game in it, and it's more of a toy than anything - but it was still nice to make something again. On the one hand I wish I'd make more complex games than this, though I've not really given myself the opportunity with doing all these game jams. Maybe I've trained myself to only make short little games in that way. And what would I make with a big, complex game anyways? What do I want to get out of making games that I'm not getting out of making short little jam games? I'm not quite sure. Maybe just to have something to point at and be proud of as a magnum opus or something. Still, I am happy I've made all these games so far anyways. And this one is no exception! I really did enjoy working on the graphics here particularly; the rough pixel art backgrounds might not look very polished, but I like how they turned out anyways - kind of painterly, I guess - and the spritework was always fun to do as well. I do like the perspective on the thumbnail. Hopefully you enjoyed playing the game as much as I did making it! Do let me know how tall you managed to build your tower - did you make it to outer space?
