THE GAME

Run and jump through a world of distributions and numbers, collecting stars along the way - can you make it through all those stats puzzles? Or will you weep over the difficulty of statistics, as is tradition? Only you can find out!

Featuring:

  • 18 levels to puzzle through, each with 3 stars - that makes a grand 54 collectibles!
  • 3 distributions to play with, all used in modelling real life situations!
  • Fun formulae that explain how the hell numbers are making the blocks move
  • The satisfaction of a job well done when you finish the game

THE CONTROLS

The controls, should they be required:

  • WASD / Arrow keys to move the player
  • Left click on the little plus/minuses on screen to change the lambda/P parameters of the platforms
  • Try and make it to the blue wavy thing at the end of the level
  • Have fun!

MY THOUGHTS

I'm pleased with this game, it's definitely got a lot more to it than the typical game jam platformer that I make! I'm particularly pleased with the idea of using statistical distribtions as platforms - still proud of that idea - and the graphics came out very nicely, particularly on the character art. And there's a lot of stuff I learned making it as well, that'll just be generally useful if I ever want to use it as a feature again, like that star system which keeps the star counts between levels, or using grids and prefabs in clever ways to make a bunch of levels quickly. Still, it did take a surprisingly long time to make this game, even if it was on and off - a full two weeks and change! I guess without a deadline things just get done slower, but at least it got done at all. I suppose part of why it took so long was because I was free to try things out more, add more features and so on, so maybe taking a long time to make the game wasn't such a bad thing. At the very least, it was definitely a different experience to making a jam game, so there's that! And, hopefully, you enjoy playing through all those levels as much as I enjoyed making them - if you manage to 100% the game, please do let me know; I'd love to hear about it!

It seems that there is a problem with this game. Once it is run, it will report the problem of "memory access out of bounds" after loading. It may be that there is a problem with the code. I hope it can be solved as soon as possible.

And, if you need to draw a cover, you can come to me. I like painting:)

The above are the results of machine translation. I don't know whether the translation is correct ↑

This rules, it's very fun and cute! The graphics are really pleasant too, the character reminds me of this business catgirl I drew :*)

I got 52/54 stars, I'll have to see if I can find where those hidden ones are :*)

Aha, I see the resemblance (and I love the artwork too)! Glad you liked it, and good luck with those 2 last stars!

Great concept! The use of distribution curves as platforms is pretty creative! Some of the puzzles were a good challenge. The music was pretty poppin as well! Great work on this!

Thank you so much for playing through the whole game! It's good to hear you learned something more about stats too from it (I don't fully understand how it all works, and I made the game)! And it was great to see your thoughts throughout the whole thing, so thank you for making the video, it was great!
