box party demo
A downloadable game for Windows
You're invited to the biggest party of the year!
But the food has gone bad, and they're threatening to crash the party, forever!
It's up to you to stop them before it's too late!
The full version of Box Party is not finished yet, but the demo version of Box Party is available for download right now!
Box Party is a cartoony retro FPS where you shoot foods and go to parties.
Also you are a Box. Along the way you'll find cool weapons to use, fellow partygoers to talk to, optional side quests to complete, and more importantly, plenty of food to fight.
Box Party consists of a short and replayable Story Mode with all 6 stages containing unique mechanics, difficult boss fights, and plenty of optional content to find like side quests, easter eggs, and NPCs. Also included is a Challenge Mode to unlock after you complete the game, filled with a bunch of mini-stages to complete.
The Demo Version contains the first 3 levels of the Story Mode, that means you get 3 parties, 3 boss fights, many different foods, 4 different weapons, 3 different playable boxes, all completely free.
Ammo pickups are scarce in Box Party, and health pickups are nigh non-existent. Instead, regain your health and ammo by defeating foods! Combined with low ammo capacity and aggressive foods, you'll need to get a hang of the combat loop in Box Party to do well on higher difficulties.
Here's a list of features to get you interested in Box Party:
- Unlock new playable boxes, each with their own unique abilities!
- Fight a balanced diet of foods and difficult bosses!
- Assemble an arsenal of party-themed weaponry!
- Contains over 60 hats to collect!
- A disgusting amount of secrets for you to find! (you won't find em all)
- Make small talk with NPCs!
- Keep track of your high scores!
- A handy dandy guidebook to help you out!
- Full mod support, thanks to the GZDoom engine!
- Play with up to 7 of your friends over LAN co-op!
Will you become the Ultimate Party Star?

Box party ipk3 doesn't work on gzdoom on Delta Touch. It starts to load then gives a message "1 errors while parsing DECORATE scripts" then stops working.
The itchio and steam version of box party haven't been updated to work on the latest version of GZDOOM. I'll get a hotfix out soon.
The current version only supports GZDOOM versions before v4.9.
I downloaded the source code for your first demo that you were going to originally release on itch.io and renamed the zip as ipk3 and it works fine on Delta Touch using gzdoom without any errors.
