i use primarily free samples from cymatics and black octopus for drum beats and occasionally other sounds, i use labchirp for almost anything that sounds "chiptune" or "fakebit", and the rest is vsti, largely from big cat instruments, dsk, or other free sources. they should clear any checks for copyright but all are released as is as musical copyright has become an abysmal landscape where labels and estates and such will go as far as to go after an artist for "a vibe" rather than musical composition, (see pharrell lawsuit for reference) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharrell_Williams_v._Bridgeport_Music
