Originally tagged as speedy by User:Timeshifter, but covered by PD-simple, as properly tagged. Underlying lk (talk) 15:22, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Original speedy deletion grounds: Copyright violation. Image is directly copied from page 102 of a copyrighted UN document: Global Study on Homicide 2013: Trends, Contexts, Data (PDF). Vienna: United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. March 2014. ISBN 9789210542050. Copyright info is on page 4: "© United Nations, March 2014. All rights reserved, worldwide." In addition it says "This publication may be reproduced in whole or in part and in any form for educational or non-profit purposes without special permission from the copyright holder, provided acknowledgement of the source is made." That non-commercial exception is not acceptable for the Commons.
The tag you put on it does not override the copyright. Template:PD-simple redirects to Template:PD-shape. --Timeshifter (talk) 16:54, 28 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Kept: PD-Simple (along with PD-Shape) are related to threshold of originality; works below the threshold do not have a copyright in the first place (nothing is being "overrid[den]"). This indeed appears to be insufficently original, PD-simple, and thus properly tagged. --Эlcobbola talk 19:13, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
