Has anyone tried to use the report extensions installer cmdlet that comes with one of the later CUs of R2 on an older version of AX? I guess I'll just try but just wondering if anyone has any experience with it.

In an effort to minimize CIL warnings in our build process, I'm trying to install the payroll components so all the reference warnings are resolved. Unfortunately, the SETUP utility doesn't list payroll as an option. The MSI files are in t...

Does anyone know how to get data out of the OData feeds with a company filter? I noticed when creating queries and exposing them, the OData feed seems to be returning data from all legal entities - regardless of the fact that the table is stored p...

We've successfully sequences 2012 RTM and 2012 R2 with App-V and were able to run them side-by-side. EXCEPT reporting just doesn't seem to work at all.
Has anyone successfully used a 2012 client in App-V, with reporting? The AX client is s...

Has anyone used SQL 2012's audit features, in particular to monitor model store changes to a production environment? Seems like that would be an interesting solution for audited companies to prove out a stable production release... Anyone?

I'm curious and I wish I could do a proper poll but... Who is using TFS with AX?
Please briefly comment if you are just doing source control, or also work items, branching, builds, etc. Also include your version of AX please (2009 or 2012).

The standard connector is very bare-bones. What's the community's favorite integration tool, specifically to go to AX?

In the upcoming April 2022 release (version 10.0.25/PU49), some changes will be introduced to how the internal access modifier works in X++. Although still not as strict as C#, it will at least fix a few issues with how it works. Note that the Int...

I’ve struggled with this myself for a while during the betas of “AX7”. Sometimes, symbols aren’t loaded for your code and your breakpoints aren’t hit. It’s clear that the Dynamics 365 option “Only load symbols for your solution” has something to d...

Quite a few years ago, in my previous job when I was an MVP still, I did an online webinar for the AXUG called “Putting Software Engineering back in Dynamics AX” (in 2014). Admittedly it was somewhat of a rant / soap box type of talk. I guess “foo...
