Published ODBC Report

Hello All,

New to PowerBi so sorry if this is a basic question

Installed Gateway and ODBC Driver (Confirmed on the server it can connect to the ODBC but using an ODBC testing connection tools - worked fine

Installed PowerBi desktop on a workstation - created a new report and connection via ODBC and pulled data fine

Published the report when connecting in https://app.powerbi.com/)

Clicked into Manage Connections and Gateways
On-Prem data Gateway is online
Connection is offline

Click on settings for the connection is credentials are empty so inputted the credentials but the Save button isn't working (no errors)

Any help/suggestions ?

hI @GilbertQ

The Gateway and Connections had been auto-populated, so I didn't want to mess about with it, so no, I hadn't. however, I have now copied all the same settings from the auto-populated one, and it's now online as it allowed me to save the credentials

Any idea what it wouldn't allow me to save just out of interest ?

Thanks for the help

Hi @Biggs

Can you confirm that you have created the new data source connection in the power BI service? Add or remove a gateway data source - Power BI | Microsoft Learn
